Training properly and preparing physically to play competivite athletics at any age is crucial to health, well-being, success, and longevity of any athlete. We train our student athletes with the same systems and attention as the professionals, because its much more important that young athletes mitigate unnessessary injury. Less injury increases enjoyment, and costs less financially, emotionally, and physically. Professional athetes are paid, student athletes are not, meaning that our youth do not have access to the same resources to succesfully play competitive sports that support injury prevention and performance, yet our youth are asked to deal with the same risks, forces, stressors, and rigors that come with sports. All while going through the most rapid and extreme physcial changes in their life. LRAD develops the key physical capacities (mobility & speed) overlooked and forgotten by youth sport programs. MVMNT GYMs LRAD program offers a place to develop the key fundamental physical requisites for any athlete to compete well, and win.

 

We focus our program on the two most vital fundamental areas of athleticism, Mobility & Speed. Because mobility can be built, and speed can be taught, we separate our training foci into two days to emphasize and forge the two most important physical attributes for an athlete. Our mobility day is geared to acquiring developing, and controlling more usable ranges of motion for better movement and stride. Our speed day is geared to improve ground force production, footwork, agility, and quickness.

 

Mobility reduces and mitigates injury risk, and Speed equips athletes to school the competition!

 

MOBILITY

Mobility - The ability to express active and forceful control of a joint at and near its end range of motion. Limitations at, and around the joint, are the number one limitation to performance due to compensation, and the produces the greatest increase for risk of injury. Developing control of a joint at the end range, and strengthening the various tissues in these ranges, not only bulletproofs the joint and surrounding structures, but provides the greatest performance benefits by allowing previously unused and unaccessible ranges of motion to become usable and available. Mobility is the foundation to creating stronger, faster, and more powerful athletes. 

SPEED

Speed - Faster athletes win more. Period. Yet, very little time is dedicated to the nuances of actually developing speed, and creating faster athletes. Speed is not just natural, SPEED CAN BE TAUGHT!. Speed is the multiplication of STRIDE LENGTH (the ability to precisely move your legs through their greatest range of motion) and STRIDE FREQUENCY (the ability to make more strides per second). Both can be taught and learned. Because we train mobility one day to improve the efficacy of an athletes stride length. Our speed day is dedicated to developing precise foot work, agility, quickness, and increases in stride frequency.
